What Types of Projects Qualify?

- Major Renovations or Extensions: Project costs must be between $150,000 and $750,000, and the home’s pre-renovation value must be under $1.5 million.
- Principal Place of Residence: Projects must improve the property you live in, excluding non-essential structures like pools, sheds, or garages.
Who Can Benefit From This?
To be eligible, you must meet the following conditions:
- Income Limit: Up to $125,000 for singles or $200,000 for couples (based on your 2018-2019 tax return).
- Residency: Must be an Australian citizen aged 18 or older.
- Ineligible Applicants: Companies, trusts, owner-builders, and investment property owners do not qualify.
How Will the Grant Be Paid?
- The grant is administered by the State Revenue Office.
- It will be paid directly to eligible homeowners once the first progress payment is made on the building project.
- This grant can be combined with existing support schemes, such as the First Home Owner Grant and stamp duty concessions.
